A look at Samsung Galaxy Grand features


Samsung with its Galaxy Grand tries to pursue folks who are not able to afford a top notch device like the Galaxy Note II. Looking at its features would compel you go for it.
Some of the major features are:

Cellular network
In fact, the Galaxy Grand is the first phone from a level 1 brand to come with the dual-SIM capability in the price band of Rs 20,000. Quad-band 2G is backed by both the SIM card slots while 3G connectivity is supported only in the SIM1 slot.

Display – 5-inch WVGA
The Galaxy Grand supports a 5-inch WVGA display having a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The pixel density of its display is 187 ppi. That doesn’t make it bad; there is ample property to view web pages and documents comfortably and enjoying videos on the large 5-inch display.

Form factor and weight
With a weight of about 162 grams, Galaxy Grand is 20 grams lighter than its previous counterpart Note II. It’s also a few millimeters lesser height and width.

Wi-Fi – Dual-band,
The Galaxy Grand is one of the minority phones in its segment to characteristic dual-band Wi-Fi, 802.11 ‘n’. So, if your router supports 5GHz wireless band, you are able to exploit the much faster connectivity.





SoC
It is expected to be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It’s quite evident that Galaxy Grand is powered by the Broadcom BCM28155 SoC. It takes in a couple of ARM Cortex-A9 cores and Broadcom’s own Video Core-IV graphics engine for 2D and 3D acceleration.

8GB Storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64GB
Here, Galaxy Grand has an upper hand over other counterparts owing to 8GB of built-in storage. Moreover, the 8GB storage can take up to a 64GB MicroSD card.

Primary camera
The Galaxy Grand comes with an 8MP primary camera which has the same resolution as the one featured in Note II. The LED flash and digital image stabilization will help you to click clear photos in dim light. You can record videos at 1080p at 30fps. Also, the Galaxy Grand has a 2MP the secondary front camera.

Sensors
The Samsung Galaxy Grand is armed with accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors, all providing maximum usage and benefit to the end user. The barometer is, however, excluded from the list, yet, it’s fair for an opening-level phablet.



Li-ion 2100mAh Battery
The Galaxy Grand is known to include a bulky 2100 Li-ion mAh battery. This in turn, provides a good amount of talk time along with stimulating other tasks such as media playback, web surfing and gaming etc.
